Melvin Munk Killed IN Accident Sun.

Funeral Services To Be Held Wednesday At First Lutheran Church

Melvin Munk, 23 years of age, was fatally injured Sunday afternoon at approximately 4 o’clock in an accident that took place at the Concrete Equipment Co. on Front Street.

Mr. Munk, who was employed at the company, was working on some furniture for his home at the time of the accident.

A spokesman for the company reported that other men were working on a motor for an airboat.

The motor for the airboat had been attached to a test stand. The motor was started. The test stand started to tip. Mr. Munk, who was working nearby, attempted to assist the others in keeping the test stand from tipping. He was struck by the propeller of the motor and was killed.

Leon Hansen, superintendent of the shop, was also injured. He received a back injury and cuts. He was taken to Memorial Community Hospital for treatment of his injuries. His condition was reported as good this (Monday) noon.

The Concrete Equipment Co. is not in operation on Sundays. The men were working on their own time and their own projects, at the time of the accident, a spokesman for the company stated.

Funeral services for Mr. Munk will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Blair First Lutheran Church, the Rev. George Palleson officiating with interment in Blair Cemetery.

Mr. Munk is survived by his wife, Barbara, the former Barbara Reeh; one son, Thomas, a daughter, Melinda; hia parents Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Munk, of Blair; a brother, Norman, of Brumfield, Colo.; two sisters, Mrs. Ray Pulcar of Tyler, Texas and Mrs. Robert Faltys of Santa Anna, Calif.; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Miller Munk and Mrs. Jennie Brown, all of Blair.

Mr. Munk was born July 22, 1938 in Omaha. He has been employed at the Concrete Equipment Co. for the past three years.

The Campbell Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon. He leaves his wife, the former Barbara Reeh and two small children.
