Rev. Byron Beall

FORMER BLAIR PASTOR DEAD

Rev. Byron Beall, formerly pastor of the Baptist church here some thirty or more years ago, died from a stroke of apoplexy at his home in Lincoln last Friday at the age of 69 years and 10 months.

Deceased was a pioneer Nebraskan, coming with his parents to the territory in 1859 and locating near the mouth of Wood river in 1860 his residence in the territory and state covering a period of 58 years, being two months less than 70 years at his death.

In addition to his ministerial work he was a writer of some note on religious subjects for church and secular newspapers and periodicals. His reminiscence of pioneer days, when the Indians were a factor to be seriously considered and dealt with, was very authentic and interesting reading. The writer knew him quite intimately during his Blair pastorate and esteemed him very highly for his many unostentatious Christian virtues.

Note: Since the actual death date was not given, the news article date was used.
