Services for Ema Beard, 98, a resident at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair, will be held Friday, August 14, at 1 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Blair. Rev. James McBride will officiate. Burial will follow in the Herman Cemetery.

Visitation will begin Thursday at 12 p.m. until service time at Campbell Funeral Home.

Beard was born April 25, 1889, in Herman to Henry C. and Olina (Hanson) Horn.

Her husband, Rollie Beard, preceded her in death.

She was executive secretary of the Nebraska Humane Society.

Survivors include a niece, Lola Jean Cribbs of Alexandria, Virginia, and several cousins.
