Stewart A. Smith

Stewart A. Smith, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, died in Omaha hospital. He was 70.

He was born May 23, 1917, in Plattsmouth to Stewart Yager and Elizabeth (Beam) Smith.

He married Hazel Fitzpatrick.

Smith owned an engineering and surveying company in Blair for 24 years.

He also worked for the Corps of Engineers for 18 years.

In 1979, he retired and moved to Bella Vista, where he was a member of the community church.

Smith was a veteran of World War II, a Mason and a Shriner.

He is survived by two sons, Steven and Daniel, both of Bella Vista; 6 sisters: Lois Horn, Lela Lander, Pauline Srb, all of Omaha; Mildred Moritz of Union, Doris Wilson of Avoca and Fern Bond of Camdenton, Missouri; by 2 brothers: Veral Smith of Nebraska City, and Sheldon Smith of Murray, and by 3 grandchildren.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 22, 1987, at Bella Vista Community Church. Burial was in the Bella Vista Cemetery.

Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Bentonville, Arkansas, was in charge of the arrangements.
