Donald Feer, 81

Donald Alfred Feer, 81, of Blair died Thursday, Dec. 18, 1997, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair. Services were Monday at First Lutheran Church. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.

Mr. Feer was born June 6, 1916, in Blair to Alfred and Viola (Phelps) Feer. He attended Blair High School. In 1942, he entered the Army and served during World War II. He married Florence Mortensen in 1939. She preceded him in death in 1979. In February 1983, he married Elizabeth Bailey. He owned and operated Blair’s Chrysler dealership, known as Washington County Motors, for 45 years, retiring in 1991. He had lived at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home for the past three years.

He was a 32-degree Mason and a member of Scottish Rite, Tangier Temple of Omaha, Blair MoRi Shrine Club, Blair American Legion and the Blair Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.

Survivors are his wife, Elizabeth; a son and daughter-in-law, Virgil and Barbara Feer; two grandsons, James Feer and Nicholas Feer, all of Blair; a sister, Edna Klein, Olympia, Wash.; a brother, Kenneth Feer, Bakersfield, Calif.; a step-daughter, Woody M. Feer McBride, Manhattan Beach, Calif.

In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Edward Feer.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
