Kenneth A. Newman, 58

Kenneth A. Newman, 58, of Omaha, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at the Douglas County Hospital in Omaha.

Funeral services were held at Heafey-Heafey-Hoffman-Dworak-Cutler Memorial Chapel on Thursday, Jan. 25. Interment was at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha.

Kenneth A. Newman was born Jan. 24, 1942, in North Loup to Martha and Henry Newman.

He resided in Omaha, then moved his family to Blair where he built their home and remained until 1984.

He moved back to Omaha and continued his work at the Old Home Bread Co. until he retired in 1986 due to a recurring back injury.

Mr. Newman had a love for building and repairing things, especially cars. He was the driver of his brother’s Nash coup at Sunset Speedway until 1964.

Survivors include a wife, Trudy Newman, a daughter, Melissa Stan, three sons, Michael Newman, Mark Newman, and Matthew Newman, and seven grandchildren. He also leaves many brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Newman and Martha Huff, sisters, Rosella Newman and Henrietta Wegrzyn, and his second wife, Betty Newman.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association, Omaha and Eastern Nebraska Chapter, 7101 Newport Ave., Omaha, NE 68152.

Heafey-Heafey-Hoffman-Dworak-Cutler, located at 7805 West Center Road, Omaha, is in charge of arrangements.
