Jake Brunton Buried Today

Jake Brunton, 90 years of age, and a long time resident of this county, is to be buried this afternoon from the Christian church with Rev. T. A. Lindenmeyer officiating.

JACOB BRUNTON

Jacob Brunton was born in Jackson county, Ohio, April 17, 1850, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Hazel Thompson, of Blair at the age of 89 years, 9 months and 19 days. In his earlier days he worked in the coal mines and logging camps.

He came to Nebraska over sixty years ago and started farming and later returned to Ohio where he married Miss Sarah Smith and the two returned to Nebraska. Nine children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Brunton, six of whom are still living.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Hester Jones, of Onawa, Iowa; Mrs. J. H. Langewisch and Mrs. A. W. Langewisch both of Hooper, Nebraska and Mrs. Hazel Thompson of Blair; and two sons, William Brunton of Herman and Bryan Brunton of Blair. Besides the immediate family he leaves two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Fletcher of California and Mrs. Aarabelli Reasoner of Washington.

Funeral services were held Sunday in the Christian church in Blair with Rev. T. A. Lindenmeyer officiating and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.
