Former Blairite Killed In Runaway

Thomas J. Mullin, 68, former resident of Herman and Blair, was killed Tuesday of last week in a runaway accident on his farm at White River, South Dakota, relatives were informed. He was using three teams in a field when apparently one of the teams bolted upon walking too near a trash fire. The body was not discovered for several hours after the accident.

James P. Mullin of south of Blair, brother of the South Dakotan, left Wednesday for White River to attend funeral services at the Catholic church there. Accompanying him was his daughter, Frances, who teaches school at Norfolk.

Thomas J. Mullin, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Mullin, was born March 26, 1874, at Salem, Massachusetts, and came to Washington county with his parents in 1880. He moved to South Dakota in 1905 and in 1916 was married to Mary Gerber of Minneapolis.

Surviving Mr. Mullin are his wife, Mary; one daughter, Agnes Marie; one brother, James P. Mullin of Blair; and two sisters, Mrs. Mark Couch and Miss Rose Mullin of Los Angeles.
