Robert James Curley

Word was received here Monday of the death of Robert Curley at National City, Calif., Sunday evening from the brother of Mary and Amelia Goll and previous Sunday. His wife, formerly Esther Corson, daughter of George Corson of this city, is bringing the body here for burial. They will arrive in Omaha Saturday morning coming to Blair on the afternoon train. He was 47 years of age and leaves nine children, all living near Tekamah.

#2-14 Dec., 1922 - The Enterprise

Word has been received in Blair of the sudden death of Robert Curley who, with his bride, Esther Corson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Carson of this city, started by auto for California few weeks ago. Mrs. Curley will arrive in Blair with the body next Saturday afternoon. Frank Curley of this city is a brother of the deceased.

Harold Curley went to Omaha Saturday to meet the body of his father, Robert Curley, who died at National City, California. The funeral services were held in Lyons, Neb., Sunday at 2 o’clock under the auspices of the Odd Fellows lodge. Mr. Curley was born on a farm in Burt county near Herman in April 1876 where he grew to manhood. He was married to Miss Ella Barker in 1892. To this union twelve children were born of which there are eight living to mourn the loss of their father, Hafel, Harold, Floyd, Clifton, Marjorie, Howard, Theodore, Lester, Ella May. The mother died in the year 1919. He also leaves his mother, Mrs. Emily Curley, of Lincoln, three brothers, John, of Dixon, Neb., frank, of Blair, Alfred, of Seward. Seven sisters, Mrs. Maria Hart, of Blair, Mrs. Charles VanValin, of Herman Mrs. Charles Carter, of Emerson, Neb., Mrs. Jesse Cameron, of Lincoln, Miss Grace Curley, of Lincoln, Miss Clara Curley, of Geneva, Mrs. Josephine McColmough, of Geneva and two grandchildren.

The funeral of R. J. Curley was held at Lyons last Sunday.

The funeral of Robert Curley, who died in California last week, was held at Lyons last Sunday and burial made at that place. Mr. and Mrs. George Corson, parents of Mrs. Curley, drove up to attend the obsequies. Mrs. Curley is now at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Corson.

Robert Curley Funeral

Robert Curley, who died at National City, California, was buried Sunday, December 17 at Lyons, Nebraska, the funeral being held under the auspice of the Odd Fellows lodge of which he was a member. The body was received at Omaha, Saturday, by his son, Harold.

Robert Curley was born on a farm in Burt county, near Herman, April 1876, and there grew to manhood. He was married in 1892 to Miss Ella Barker. To this union twelve children were born of whom eight are now living: Hazel, Harold, Floyd, Clifton, Marjorie, Howard, Theodore, Lester, Ella May. The mother died in 1919.

He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Emily Curley of Lincoln, three brothers, John of Dixon, Nebraska, Frank of Blair, Alfred of Seward, Nebraska; seven sisters, Mrs. Maria Hart of Blair, Mrs. Charles VanValin, of Herman, Mrs. Charles Carter, of Emerson, Neb., Mrs. Jesse Cameron, of Lincoln, Miss Grace Curley of Lincoln, Miss Clara Curley of Geneva, Mrs. Josephine McColmough of Geneva and two grandchildren.
