Dick passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by family and loved ones. He was born on November 27, 1934 to Charles F. and Madeline Ralston Alexander in Omaha, NE. He grew up in Blair, NE, graduating from Blair High School in 1952. Dick retired from Northwestern Bell (US West) after 30 years of service. In retirement he enjoyed traveling in his motor home and wintering in Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister, Paula. Dick is survived by his devoted wife of almost 60 years, Shirley, and their six children: Cathy (Craig) and John of Omaha, Dick of Cedar Rapids, IA, Ann of Alamo, CA, Michael (Judi) of Great Falls, VA, and Lucy of Arlington, VA; sister, Patricia Walworth of Fountain Valley, CA; brothers: Frank (Marilyn) of Colorado Springs, CO, John (Hortensia) of Tehachapl, CA, Mick (Pat) of Oklahoma City, OK; brother-in-law, John Madden (Susan) of Denver, CO; sister-in-law, Lucy Buntain Comine (Larry) of Lincoln; 14 grandchildren: Chris (Danielle), Colin (Christina), Catherine (fiancé, Greg), Kaila (fiancé, Kevin), Miles, Kelli, Michael, Patrick, Caite, Lucy, Amy, Jody (Hillary), Kelli, and Brooke; great-grandchildren: Charlie, Sam, and Caitlin.

VISITATION begins Sunday, 1pm with family receiving friends 5pm to 7pm at the West Center Chapel and VIGIL SERVICE at 7 pm. SERVICES Monday, 9:30 am, West Center Chapel to St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church for MASS at 10am. Interment, Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials to St. Cecilia Elementary School, St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, or the Visiting Nurse Association.
