Walter Nichelson

Walter Eugene Nichelson, 59, of Lincoln passed away May 14, 1987, in Lincoln.

He was born December 30, 1927, in Valparaiso to Claude and Jennie Louise (Lesley).

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1946 through 1949.

On September 24, 1948, he married Dorothy L. Harris in Baltimore, Maryland. She survives of the home.

He was a member of the American Legion, Shrine, Eastern Star and the Masonic Temple.

He lived most of his life in the Lincoln area. At the time of his death, he was employed as a sales representative for U-Haul.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Rickey Ray.

Other survivors include one son, Randy L. and wife Marjorie D. of Yukon, Oklahoma; three daughters, Claudia K. Werner of Lincoln, Mrs. Rick (Cathleen S) of Coffeyville, Kansas, Mrs. Terry D. (Crystal A.) vonSeggern of Yukon, Oklahoma; seven grandsons and two grand-daughters; three brothers, Howard of Springfield, South Dakota, Jack of Waverly, Nebraska and Bruce of Lincoln; two sisters, Marilyn Gana of Lincoln and Mrs. Dan (Karen) Parker of Richardson, Texas.

Services were at 10 a.m. May 18 at Calvary United Methodist, Lincoln. Graveside services and burial were May 18, at 1:30 p.m. at the Blair Cemetery. The Dr. Gordon Patterson officiated. “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art’ were sung by Mr. and Mrs. Willard Nichelson.

Pallbearers were Charlie Nichelson, Glenn Nichelson, Dale Nickelson, Robert Adams, Virgil Feer and Jeff Lade. Honorary pallbearers were the grandchildren, Brett, Brandon, Kyle, Amanda, Joseph, Ashlee, Wade, Joshua and Travis.

A luncheon was prepared by nieces and held in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Shald of Blair.
