Theresa M. Nickolaisen, 78

Theresa M. Nickolaisen, 78, of Onawa, Iowa, died Sunday, May 12, 2002, at Burgess Health Center in Onawa.

Funeral services were Thursday, May 16, at Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, with Pastor Mike Cahill officiating. Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery.

Theresa Mae Nickolaisen was born July 12, 1923, at Kennebec, Iowa, to James and Gertrude (Wilson) Shindler. She attended school in Onawa.

In January, 1939, she married John Conway in Onawa. On Feb. 21, 1947, she married Max Nickolaisen in Onawa.

She was employed at Café 75, and also operated Moss Nursing Home. She was a member of Eagles Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, Max; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Bill Nielsen of Blair; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Kitty of Blencoe, Iowa; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Virginia Lau of California, Doris of Glendale, Calif., and Betty Foster of Omaha.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dave and Oren, and a sister, Hope.
