Ward S. Smith, 82

Ward S. Smith, 82, of Kennard, died Wednesday, June 15, 2005, at the Thomas Fitzgerald Veterans Home.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 17, at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha.

Ward S. Smith was born Jan. 21, 1923. He was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the U.S. Navy. After returning from service, he worked in the construction business, retiring in Florida in 1986. Mr. Smith was president of the Omaha Home Builders in 1963.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Marguerite, of Kennard; two daughters, one stepson, three grandsons, and three step-grandchildren.

WWII Veteran serving in the Navy Seabees. After 3 years of service in the South Pacific, he was in the construction business, retiring in Florida in 1986. He was the President of the Omaha Home Builders Assoc. in 1963. Survived by: Wife of 37 years, Marguerite, of Kennard; Daughters and Sons-in-law: Tamela and Phil Webb, Debra and Monte Campbell; Stepson, John C. Tess and wife Colleen; 3 Grandsons; 2 Step-Grandchildren.

Graveside service: Fri. 11:00 AM at Forest Lawn Cemetery. No Visitation.
