Meta Elizabeth Christensen, 94, died May 13, 2000, in Yuma, Ariz.

Services were May 16, 2000, at the Baucke Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Gregg Reiser officiating. Burial was in the Yuma Cemetery.

Meta was born June 7, 1905 in Kennard to John and Bertha (Schroeder) Japp.

She grew up and got her schooling in Nebraska. She married Henry Lawrence Christensen on November 15, 1924 in Council Bluffs. Meta lived in Nebraska until 1934, when they moved to Colorado. They lived in the Joes and Greeley areas until her husband’s retirement in 1994, when they moved to Yuma.

She is survived by her son, Henry Jr. and a daughter, Elene Cardwell, both of Evans, Ariz.; a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Ward Marshall of Yuma; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, and a brother-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a granddaughter, a daughter-in-law; four brothers and three sisters.

Baucke funeral Service in Yuma was in charge of arrangements.
