CHRISTENSEN FUNERAL HELD; NELS CHRISTENSEN OF KENNARD DIES; WIFE, FOUR CHILDREN SURVIVE

A lifetime Washington Countian, 64-year-old Nels P. Christensen of Kennard died Sunday afternoon at his home in Kennard on his 44th wedding anniversary.

Born Mar. 18, 1893, Mr. Christensen spent most of his life as a farmer. The body was brought to the Bendorf Funeral Home in Blair. Funeral rites took place Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the Kennard Methodist Church. The Rev. Donald C. Gates of Arlington officiated, and interment was in the Blair Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were six nephews, Peter, Chris, Fred, Oscar, Marshall and Merle Christensen.

Surviving Mr. Christensen are his wife, Della, of Kennard; one son, Charles Christensen of south of Kennard; and three daughters, Mrs. Lyle Rosenbaum (Christine) and Mrs. Edward Lautrup (Ruth), both of Kennard, and Mrs. Clifford Staben (Rose) of Herman. There are 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; also two sisters, Mrs. Tillie Lynn and Mrs. Axel Saunders (Dora), both of Omaha.
