Memorial services were Tuesday, October 31, at the United Presbyterian Church in Wayne, Nebraska for Roy Christensen, 74, who died October 28, 1989 in a Lincoln hospital.

Roy Christensen was born July 20, 1915 at Bennington to Karl and Marie Kudsk. He grew up in the Blair area and graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1938 where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.

He worked for the Carhart Lumber Company while in Blair. Later he moved to Pierce, Nebraska where he worked for Carhart.

He married Geraldine Hansen on November 15, 1942 in Pierce.

He served in the United States Navy from 1942-1945 during World War II. After returning from the war he moved to Neiligh where he also worked for Carhart, moving to Wayne in 1953 with the same company. He was general manager of the company there when he retired in 1984.

He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, American Legion Post No. 43, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5291, the Masonic Lodge No. 120 and the Tangier Shrine Temple in Omaha.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Karl and Robert.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine of Wayne; and three daughters, Karen Marra and Kathryn Ley, both of Wayne, and Jean Doyle of Norfolk. One sister, Elizabeth Servine of Blair, and 11 grandsons survive him.

McBride-Wiltse Mortuary in Wayne was in charge of arrangements for the service.
