Services were Friday, May 20 at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Omaha for Rue Christensen, 70, who died at her Omaha home May 17, 1994.

Rue Elaine Christensen was born July 29, 1923 in Washington County to Andrew and Lottie Matzen.

She was a member of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church and belonged to the Solo Sisters women’s organization. She was active in numerous organizations including Royal Neighbors and the Christie Heights Sr. Citizens Group and frequently served as an officer. She also wrote poetry.

She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin; her parents and sister Marilyn Miller.

Survivors include three sons and their wives, L??n and Ann of Omaha; Darrell and Michelle of Sacramento, California; and Duane of Omaha; eight grandchildren; brothers Norman and Philip Matzen both of Blair; sisters, Norma Strand of Mesa, Arizona, Guinivere Krecklow of Glenwood, Iowa and Margaret Kemmerer of Leshara, Nebraska.
