Howard E. Larsen, 88, of Herman, died Nov. 6, 2014, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Community in Blair.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Herman Community Church in Herman. Burial will be in the Herman Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair from 2 to 4 p.m.

Howard E. Larsen was born Aug. 18, 1926, in rural Herman, to Edgar and Elna Larsen. He grew up in the Herman area attending Bell Center and New England Schools. He later graduated from Herman High School in 1944.

He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Germany.

On April 25, 1950, he was united in marriage to Lucille Andersen. The couple raised their family west of Herman where they farmed.

Howard was a member of the Herman Community Church, the Herman American Legion and a Charter Member of the Blair Eagles Club. Howard especially enjoyed visiting with people.

For the last six years, Howard was a resident at Good Shepherd Community in Blair.

He is survived by sons: Roger (Debra) Larsen and Brian (Kris) Larsen of Herman; grandchildren: Brad, Ryan, Mike and Bree; great-grandchildren: Lucy, Brody, Owen, Bryn, Caleb and Eli; and brother-in-law Andrew “Butch” Hansen.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Lucille; son Randall; and sisters: Mildred Stewart Ferguson and Ruby Hansen.

Memorials may be directed to the Herman Community Church.
