Services for Robert Nels Christenson, formerly of Fort Calhoun and Tekamah, who died March 19, 1994 at Aksarben Manor in Omaha, were Monday, March 21 at Hamel-Peck-Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah. Rev. Charles A. Bailey officiated. Military graveside rites at Graceland Cemetery in Albert Lea, Minnesota were by the Albert Lea Veterans Organization Tuesday, March 22.
Robert Nels Christenson was born October 18, 1942 in Albert Lea, Minnesota to Foster and Margaret Webber Christenson. He attended school in Albert Lea.
He served in the United States Army from July, 1961 until July, 1963.
He was employed by United Hydraulics as a machinist until he was disabled.
He married Evelyn Appleton November 28, 1964.
On September 14, 1980 he accepted Christ and was baptized in Clear Lake, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Margaret; his father and two brothers.
He is survived by two sons, Robert of Omaha and Shane of Asheville, North Carolina; a daughter, Kimberly Egan of Severn, Maryland; five grandchildren; three sisters; three brothers; his mother Margaret Christenson of Albert Lea and numerous nieces and nephews.
