DONEY CHRISTIANSEN DIES IN WYOMING

Andre “Doney” Christiansen, a former Blair businessman, passed away in Casper, Wyoming on December 14th. He was born to Mr. and Mrs. Nels Christiansen on February 3rd, 1879. In 1903 he married in Briggs, Nebraska to Anna Lund.

Mr. Christiansen, at the age of 8, helped in a retail meat business and continued in that line as his life work. Doney was one of the early day merchants of Blair and for many years he operated a meat market in a small frame building where the Home Theater now stands. That was in the days when a market sold only meat, had sawdust on the floor and hung fresh sides of beef out in front of the store. He moved to Casper, Wyoming in 1926 and in 1930 started his own meat and grocery business.

His wife died in 1933. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. John Manson (Irene) of Chicago and Mrs. L. H. Engelhardt (Frances) of Omaha; two sons, Howard and Fred of Casper; three grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. E. T. Epling of Casper.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 16th. The Bustard Mortuary at Casper is in charge of arrangements.
