C. W. CHRISTIANSEN DIED SATURDAY EVE

C. W. Christiansen, known to many as “Slim” Christiansen, died Saturday evening at the Blair Hospital as the result of a heart attack. He was 73 years old.

Mr. Christiansen had undergone an operation several months ago and had recovered satisfactorily but had developed a heart ailment. He had suffered an attack at his home at 2233 Front Street Saturday evening and had called the hospital to state his condition. He had driven his car to the hospital ground but was unable to walk into the building. Hospital aides gave him care but it was not possible to save his life.

Christian William Christiansen was born May 23rd, 1894 at Herman and grew up in that area for many years engaged in farming. Later he left the farm and entered the farm equipment business in Blair, a business which he followed for a number of years.

He is survived by a son, Eugene, of the Herman area and by a daughter, Mrs. Carl Sorensen (Viva Mae) of Blair. There are five grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. J. A. Jasperson, of Herman and Mrs. Stella Larsen, of Fremont; a brother, Harry, lives in Denver.

Funeral services were held at the First Lutheran Church Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. George Pallesen conducting the service. Burial, under the direction of the Bendorf Funeral Home, was made in the Blair Cemetery. Pallbearers were nephews. There were Howard Kubie, Lyle Skov, Vernon Larsen, Milo Larsen, LeRoy Larsen and Allan Larsen.

Mr. Christiansen’s wife, Hilda, died in 1962.
