Funeral services for Francis F. Christiansen, former Washington County man, were held Tuesday with burial in the Herman Cemetery.

The deceased was born July 24, 1895 at Kennard and passed away at the Veterans Hospital in Omaha last Friday, February 20th. He was 57 years of age at his death.

His early life was spent in Washington County, mostly in the Kennard vicinity. On April 16, 1918 he was united in marriage to Miss Helen Nelsen at Blair and to this union 2 children were born.

After being discharged from service he was engaged in farming for a number of years in the Herman vicinity. Later he lived in Blair for a time and then moved to Tekamah where he became Chief of Police.

He is survived by his wife and a son, Ivan, who is at home with his mother in Tekamah. A daughter, Mrs. Earl Stokes, lives at Walthill. A granddaughter, Carolyn Stokes, survives.

Mr. Christiansen is survived by five sisters and two brothers. The sisters are: Mrs. Sena Hansen, Bartlett, Nebraska; Mrs. George Hansen (Elfreda) of Herman; Mrs. Charles Chamberlain (Lilly) of Nebraska City; Mrs. Frank Merriman (Elna) of Pocatello, Idaho; Mrs. R. B. Connell (Cleo) of Tryon, Nebraska. The brothers are Fred, of Buhl, Idaho; and Clarence of Twin Falls, Idaho.

A former Blairite, Francis F. Christiansen, 57, of Tekamah died Friday at Veterans Hospital in Omaha. A veteran of World War I, he had been hospitalized since before last Thanksgiving.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Schafer & Peck Mortuary in Tekamah, interment following in Herman Cemetery. The Rev. H. C. Jorgensen of First Lutheran Church in Blair officiated.

Mr. Christiansen, who was a truck driver here for many years, was most recently employed by the Nebraska-Iowa Supply Co. of Blair before going to Tekamah.

Surviving him are his wife Helen; son, Ivan Christiansen, of Tekamah; and one daughter, Mrs. Earl Stokes of Walthill. Other survivors include a granddaughter, Carolyn Stokes; and a niece Mrs. George Carmichael of Blair.
