Funeral services for Marjorie Wakefield Christiansen, age 71 of Blair and formerly of Herman, who died January 26, 1990 at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 30 at the Herman United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Orvis officiating. Burial will be in the Herman Cemetery.

Marjorie Francis Fletcher was born in Crawford, Nebraska on June 11, 1918 to Eddie and Grace Laughlin Fletcher. She was reared by her two aunts, Birdie and Alma Fletcher. She attended the New England School and later Herman High School.

She married Warren Wakefield in 1935. He died in January 1977.

Marjorie worked at the Crowell Memorial Home in Blair as kitchen and dining room supervisor fro 1958 to 1974.

On September 13, 1978, she married Paul Christiansen. He survives and lives in Blair.

Marjorie was a member of the Herman Eastern Star Chapter #216 and a member of Herman American Legion Auxiliary Jackson-Peck Post #274.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Earl E. and Delbert C. Fletcher.

She is survived by her husband, Paul; two sons and daughters-in-law, Leslie and Patty Jo Wakefield of Herman, Nebraska and Wilbur and Diana Wakefield, Rochester, Minnesota; three step-children; four grandchildren, Mary, James, Lisa and Scott Wakefield; one sister, Evelyn Babson, Concord, California; two sisters-in-law, Muriel Fletcher, Hayward, California and Louise Fletcher of Clarkston, Washington.

The family request memorials to the givers personal preference.
