Mrs. Peter Christiansen, who lives on the old Ervey place just south of town on the Kennard road, died last Thursday, following an illness from dropsy and cancer that lasted about ten weeks. The funeral was held at the home at 2 o’clock Sunday and another service at 2:30 at the Danish church. Rev. A. M. Andersen officiating. Petra Petersen was born in Aebeltoft, Denmark, Jan. 28th, 1864, and was therefore, in her 53rd year. She came to this country about 28 years ago and was married to Mr. Christiansen at Orum about 20 years ago. They had no children of their own, but adopted a son, Fred, who with the husband survives her. They lived at Orum for a number of years and many from that neighborhood attended the funeral. There were one hundred autos in the procession, which meant about 400 people who followed her remains to their last resting place in the Blair Cemetery.

The death of Mrs. Peter Christiansen occurred at the family home, on the place formerly owned by Harry Ervey one mile south of Blair, on last Thursday. Her husband and an adopted son survive.

Mr. and Mrs. Christiansen lived at Arlington for a number of years, later purchasing and moving to the Frank Curtis farm west of Orum where they resided for some years, coming to Blair to live a few years ago and last year purchasing the Ervey place where they have since resided. Deceased was highly respected by all those who knew her, as was attested by the large attendance at the funeral which was held on Sunday with a brief service at the home at 2 o’clock p.m. and later at the Danish church in Dexterville, Rev. A. M. Andersen preaching the funeral sermon.
