Funeral services for Rose C. Christiansen, 85, of Blair were held December 5, 1987, at Emmaus Lutheran Church with Rev. Carl F. Schattauer officiating.

Burial was in the Prairie View Cemetery in Kennard.

Pallbearers were Elmer Voss, LeRoy Voss, Chris Wiese, Robert Wulf, Arnold Wiese and Clarence Voss. Honorary pallbearers were Niels Christensen, Reinhardt Puls, Jack Coan, Neal Holling, Robbie Thompson and Dave Waite.

Rose was born April 21, 1902, in Kennard to Henry Theodore and Anna Dorathea (Schumacher) Wiese. She attended the LaCrone School.

On March 27, 1929, she married Andrew Christiansen. They farmed in the Kennard area until Andrew’s death September 26, 1970. Rose then moved to Blair in 1971.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Royal Neighbors, Ladies Aid of Emmaus Lutheran Church and Eagles Auxiliary.

Survivors include children LaVerne and Janet of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Merle and Betty of Logan, Iowa; 5 grandchildren, and 4 step-grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren, and 4 step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 11 brothers and sisters.
