Jessie Chloe Palmer Snow, 97, died Saturday, March 7, 1998, at the Oakland Heights Nursing Center in Oakland.

Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Tekamah. Rev. Dawn Flink Silvius is officiating. Burial will be in the Tekamah Cemetery.

Mrs. Snow was born Aug. 7, 1900, the second oldest of 11 children, to Dooley E. and Leslie Odell Palmer in Lebanon, Mo. She worked in her father’s general store and post office in Russ, Mo., as a young girl. On Sept. 19, 1919, she married Everett Snow in Lebanon. They moved to Burt County where they farmed in the Arizona area northeast of Tekamah. In 1945, they moved to a farm in the Silver Creek Township.

She attended church at Arizona, while living in that area, and taught the Adult Sunday School class. She was baptized in the Missouri River. After moving to Silver Creek, she attended Silver Creek Baptist Church and later Riverside Baptist Church where she again taught Sunday School, played the piano and was active in the Women’s Mission Circle. On Dec. 28, 1986, she became a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Tekamah. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Tekamah.

Survivors ae daughters: Deloris Fleischman of Oakland; Delena (Mrs. Harold) Williams of Tekamah; and Cleo Gordon of Omaha; sons and daughter-in-law, Duane Snow of Blair and Lyle and Judy Snow of Tekamah; 14 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Hugh Palmer, Dooley Palmer and Lloyd Palmer, all of Lebanon; and one sister, Hester Grace, of Tavares, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, five sisters, a great-grandson, and four sons-in-law.
