A.J. Snowbeck, 88

Services are 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 13 at First Lutheran Church in Blair for A.J. Snowbeck, 88, who died at his Blair home August 10, 1996. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.

A.J. Snowbeck was born August 14, 1908 at Fergus Falls, Minnesota to Arne and Thora Winter Snobeck . He graduated from Concordia College in Moorehead, Minnesota and took graduate work at the University of Minnesota.

He taught high school at Minot, North Dakota and New Ulm, Minnesota.

In 1945, he moved to Blair, where he started the business department at Dana College. He later became the business manager, retiring in 1973. He received an honorary doctorate from Dana College in 1987.

He married Bernice Larson in Minot, North Dakota in 1938.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, five sisters and one brother.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David and Judith Snowbeck, St. Charles, Illinois; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ellen and John Boynton, Shoreview, Minnesota; four grandchildren: Blair Boynton, Erik Snowbeck, Christopher Snowbeck and Ann Snowbeck; and two brothers, Don of Hastings, Minnesota and Phillip of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
