EDGAR LARSEN FATALLY INJURED IN TRACTOR ROLL

DIED WEDNESDAY FORENOON AT HOSPITAL IN BLAIR

Edgar Larsen, well known farmer who resides in Blair, was fatally injured Wednesday forenoon when a tractor he was operating overturned, crushing the lower portion of his body. He was rushed to Memorial Community Hospital at Blair but died a short time after arrival.

Mr. Larsen was operating a tractor with a front-end scoop and was engaged in cleaning up around the barn at his farm. He had filled the scoop and lifted it preparatory to dumping it in a manure spreader. The tractor, operating on a hillside, was overbalanced by the loaded scoop and rolled over sideways, crushing its driver beneath. The tractor made a complete overturn and came up on its wheels again.

Medical aid was summoned and an ambulance was called to carry him to the hospital at Blair. He was severely crushed across the lower part of his body, the hips and legs. He died within a short time.

Mr. Larsen was born at Kennard, Nebraska December 15, 1898, and was 61 years of age. He spent his entire lifetime in this area, engaged as a farmer. A few years ago he retired from the farm and moved to Blair where he and Mrs. Larsen have lived at 1666 Grant street.

He is survived by his wife, Della, one son, Russell, who farms north of Blair, and by a sister, Mrs. Raymond Dixon, of Denver, Colorado.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at the First Lutheran Church in Blair with the Rev. George Pallesen conducting the services.

Burial, under the direction of the Bendorf Funeral Home, will be made in the Blair Cemetery.
