Minnie B. Bauer, 87

Funeral services for Minnie B. Bauer, 87, of Blair, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Bauer died Sunday, July 23, 2000, at Good Shepherd Home in Blair.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Moser Memorial Chapel. Visitation will also be held Wednesday, July 26 from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Services will be officiated by the Rev. Eugene Watson of First United Methodist Church, Fremont. Interment will be at Ridge Cemetery, Fremont.

Minnie B. Bauer was born Feb. 19, 1913, in Yorktown, Iowa to Lewis and Nancy (Blaine) Barker.

She grew up in the Lenox, Iowa, and area. After her marriage to Alvin Bauer on Nov. 26, 1933, at Maryville, Mo., she lived at Villisca, Iowa until 1944, when they moved to Nebraska. She lived in Wahoo, Mead and Valley, before moving to Blair in 1955. Bauer had been living at Good Shepherd Home for the last year.

Bauer was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Blair.

She is survived by her husband, Alvin; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Betty Bauer of Fremont; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Paul Thanasides of Tampa, Fla., a daughter, Barbara Ellis of Reno, Nev., 11 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren, and three great-great -grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Norman; eight brothers, two sisters, and one grandchild.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont is in charge of arrangements.
