Frank Bauman

Services for Frank R. Bauman, 64, who died Monday, April 5, 1986, at the Blair Memorial Community Hospital, will be Thursday, April 8,10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Blair. Rev. Alan Howe will officiate and burial in the Blair Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Fern of Blair; one brother, James H. of Neligh; and one sister, Mrs. William (Alice F.) Donnelly, of Hooper.

Campbell Funeral Home of Blair is in charge of arrangements.

Frank Bauman

Services for Frank Ft. Bauman, 64, who died on May 5, 1986, will be held Thursday, May 8, 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Blair. Rev. Alan Howe will officiate and burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Bauman was born October 31, 1921, at Norfolk, to Alice and Frank Bauman of Neligh.

After graduating from Neligh High School in 1939, Frank became an operator at the Neligh Power Plant. He worked there until August 1942 when he entered the U.S. Army Signal Corps.

He spent four years in the China- Burma-India Theater of operations, for which service he was decorated by both the British and American governments. He was honorably discharged from the Army in March 1946.

In June, 1946 he married Fern Nicholson of Blair. They moved to Chadron in October, 1946, where he was an operator for Consumers power plant.

After three years he transferred to Kramer Power Plant at Bellevue, where he was a supervisor for nine years. In June 1958 he transferred to the Dave Johnston Steam Generating Plant, operated by Pacific Power and Light Company, at Glenrock, Wyoming. He was Superintendent of Operations and Assistant Plant Superintendent for fifteen years.

While living in Glenrock, Frank was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, vice president of the Glenrock Development Corporation, vice chairman of the Glenrock Hospital Board, and Lodge. In April 1973 he transferred to the Jim Bridger Power Plant at Rock Springs, Wyoming, one of the largest coal-fired, steam-generating power plants in the United States. He served there as Superintendent of Plant Operations until his retirement two years later.

After retiring in 1975, Frank and Fern moved to Blair, where they have made their home.

Survivors include: his wife, Fern of Blair; one brother, James H. of Neligh; one sister, Mrs. William (Alice F.) Donnelly of Hooper; several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
