Funeral services were held for Marisue Baurmeister on Thursday, April 25, 1985, at St. John’s Lutheran Church at 10:00 a.m. with Dr. Norman E. Schroeder officiating. Joyce Johnson sang “Safe in the Arms of Jesus” and the congregational hymn was “Lift High the Cross.” Miriam Sukraw was the organist.

Casket bearers were Scott Rosenbaum, Shawn Rosenbaum, Patrick Malec, Jeffrey Hill, William N. Hill, IV, and Michael Malec.

Interment was in the Flower Hill Cemetery with the Haden-Golden Service in charge of arrangements.

Marisue Baurmeister was born October 9, 1967 and joined the family of Fred and Dorothy Baurmeister eight days later. She was baptized in the Christian faith at St. John’s Lutheran Church December 3, 1967 with her brothers as baptismal sponsors. She attended Sunday Church School, Jr. Youth Ministry, Catechetical classes and confirmed her faith on May 30, 1982 at St. John’s. She participated in Sr. Youth Ministry and served as an acolyte.

Her early school days were spent at the Elk City School. She enrolled in the Arlington Public School beginning at grade four.

Varsity and stage band is where she put to use her saxophone and clarinet. Piano skills were used in the choral and solo work. Volleyball and wrestling cheerleader, track, and basketball were all part of her world of learning and growing.

She was a three-year contestant at the State Speech contest. Marisue was a member of the Future Business Leaders of America. In 1985 she received first place in math competition. Her high rating on the ACT test speaks well of her academic achievements. As a member of the 1985 senior class of Arlington High School she was to graduate May 19, having already been announced as a scholarship recipient to Kearney State College.

Marisue was first runner-up in the past Junior Miss Pageant. In connection with this she received the Talent and Community Service Award.

She died on Monday afternoon, April 22, as the result of an auto accident while on her way to work. Her survivors are her parents, Fred and Dorothy Baurmeister; two brothers, Ronald and Bob, and their wives Kristen and Jean; one niece Traci, three nephews Matt, Mark and Chase; other relatives and a great host of friends.
