Ira G. Baxter Died Saturday

Ira G. Baxter, life-long resident of this area and a farmer, died at his home northwest of Blair, Saturday. He was 84 years old.

Mr. Baxter had the distinction of having been born on the farm on which he died. He spent his entire life there, and thereby established a record which cannot be equaled in this area.

He was born July 27, 1882. He assisted with the farming operations while his parents were living and then continued on after they were gone. He never married.

He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Pearl Siegel, of Los Angeles and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church in Blair on Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. Joel Kemmerer conducting the service. Burial was made in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Bendorf Funeral Home.

Herman Landmark Lodge No. 222 A.F. & A.M. conducted Graveside Services.

Mr. Baxter was a member of the Herman Blue Lodge, the Royal Arch Masons of Blair and the Jordan Commandery of Blair.

Pallbearers were William Baxter, Vernon Tuttle, Melvin Hewitt, Otto Matzen, George Isham and Irvin Mathiesen.
