Services for Richard Baxter, 46 who died September 11, 1992 at Immanuel Medical Center were Monday, September 14 at Sievers-Sprick Mortuary in Fort Calhoun. Burial was in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.

Richard Ray Baxter was born September 27, 1945 in Dunlap, Iowa to Darrell and Mary Renz Baxter. He grew up in Woodbine, Iowa and went to high school at the Woodbine Community High School.

He married Marilyn Johnson September 17, 1965. They had two children, Tammy and Rick.

He was a truck driver, working in the Omaha area. He was a member of the Fort Calhoun Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Gary Tierney; a son, Rick and his fiancé, Tracy Givens and three grandchildren, Shaleen, Blake and Casey Tierney.

Other survivors include his parents, Darrell and Mary Baxter of Woodbine; his father-in-law Leslie Johnson of Blair; a brother and his wife, Kenny and Lona of Elkhorn and three sisters and their husbands, Marva and Bob Adams of Lakeview, Iowa; Kay and Bob Cook of Omaha and Christy and Gary Beistel of Marion, Illinois.

Sievers-Sprick Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
