Harold Brausch, 74

Harold Braush, 74, died at his Fremont home Saturday, April 4, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Rev. John Whelan will officiate.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a wake service at 6:30 p.m. at Lauin Dugan- Chambers Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Bausch was born Jan. 26, 1924, at Leigh, Neb., where he was raised. He graduated from Leigh High School in 1942 and entered the Navy.

He returned to Leigh in 1944 where he worked in the post office. He later became postmaster at Leigh and served in that position until 1973 when he moved to Fremont. On April 3, 1944, he married Lillian M. Fendrich at Leigh.

He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. He had been active in square dancing since 1959 and was a nationally and internationally known square dance caller with 42 recordings. He had held calling clinics since 1965.

Survivors are four daughters, Veronica (Mrs. Doyle) Kauk of Hoxie, Kan.; Janice (Mrs. Curt) Recek of Fremont; Christina (Mrs. Kelly) Kobold of Ankeny, Iowa; and Deanna (Mrs. Ray) Norhenberg of Hooper; a son, Philip (wife Jeanette) Bausch of Lincoln; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Hall of Leigh; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian on February 9, 1998 and one brother.
