Ed Nielsen Died At Blair Wednesday

Ed Nielsen, long time employee of the Christensen Lumber Company of Blair, died Wednesday at Memorial Community Hospital following an illness. Mr. Nielsen known to hundreds in this area, had been associated with the lumber yard for forty years but had retired about ten years ago.

He was a native of Denmark, having been born at Aalborg, Denmark July 4th, 1892. He was 78 years old at his death.

He was married to Marie Wolsmann and the couple lived at 1718 Nebraska Street for many years. They had no children.

When first coming to America as a young man, he worked on farms and for some time worked with the late J. T. Nelson who has farmed just west of Blair for a number of years.

Later he was associated with the Christensen Lumber Co, and worked with the late Karl Christensen for 40 years.

A quiet, industrious man, he won many friends for his efficient, loyal service to his work.

Funeral services will be held this (Monday) afternoon at First Lutheran Church at 2:00 P.M. The Rev, Sanford D. Sorgen will conduct the service and burial will be made at the Orum Cemetery under the direction of the Bendorf Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be John and Eugene Wolsmann, Norman Buchardt, Robert Harrison, Norman Matzen and James McKay.
