Lawrence R. Feller, 76, died Nov. 10, 2008, at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center in Cheyenne, Wyo. Services were Nov. 13 at St. Joseph Church in Cheyenne.

Lawrence Ralph “Larry” Feller was born Jan. 24, 1932, in Omaha to Lawrence R. Feller Sr. and Alvina (Hildebrand) Feller. He grew up in Omaha, and graduated valedictorian of Holy Name High School.

He attended both the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and Creighton University. He was drafted and served in the United States Army during the Korean War*.

Mr. Feller devoted his life to three things: his church, his family, and his work.

At the time of his death, he was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cheyenne, where he had been a Eucharistic Minister for many years.

For almost his entire adult life, he worked with structural steel, leaving his mark on communities wherever he worked. He was proud of his work as project manager for a number of buildings at Boys Town during his employment with Paxton and Vierling Steel in Omaha. He worked as estimator and chief estimator at Puma Steel in Cheyenne until July of 2008. While at Puma Steel, he worked behind the scenes on projects including the patient tower and parking structure at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, the Sierra Trading Post buildings in Cheyenne, the DIA expansion, and the new Denver Post-Rocky Mountain News building in Denver, Colo. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Marcia Landon Feller; his children and their spouses, Laurel and Terry James of Prineville, Ore., Mark and Maggie Feller of LaVista; Matthew and Paddy Feller of Plano, Texas, Sheila O’Malley of LaPine, Ore; Andrea Madsen of Blair, Phillip and Michelle Feller of Centennial, Colo., and Nicholas and Ana Feller of Mentor, Ohio; stepdaughters, Dru Ann Boyd Click and husband Floyd of Westminster, Md., Catherine Boyd Mitchell of Longwood, Fla., and Natalie Boyd Stonesifer of Cheyenne; sisters, Mary Ellen Worland of Denver and Geraldine Fuhs of Milwaukee, Wis. Much to his delight, 19 grandchildren, 10 step-children of his children and 15 great-grandchildren called him “Grumpy Grandpa”.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Lloyd Feller, and one grandchild, Samantha Worland.

Memorials are suggested to the Cheyenne Little Theater Players Educational Program, PO Box 20087, Cheyenne, WY 82003. Those gifts will be for the establishment of a scholarship in his name.
