Services for Eunice M. Neilson, 93 of Rockford, Illinois who died November 10, 1995 at P.A. Peterson Nursing Home after a short illness are Wednesday, November 15 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Rockford. Dr. Howard Edward, III will officiate. Burial will be in Hill of Rest Cemetery in Joliet, Illinois.

Eunice M. Neilson was born January 25, 1902 in Joliet to Oliver and Blanche Bell Flint. She was a graduate of Joliet High School, a member of the Class of 1919. She attended Salvation Army Officer Training School.

She was a captain in the Salvation Army until 1926 when she became a full-time homemaker. She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, a former member of the Alter Guild, Mission Society and Ladies Aid and a former member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Joliet and Trinity Lutheran Church in Ventura, California.

She married John C. Neilson April 30, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois. He preceded her in death January 30, 1990 in Ventura.

She moved to Rockford in 1991 from Ventura.

She is survived by a son, John O. Neilson, Cherry Hill, New Jersey; daughters, Joyce (Mrs. Gilbert) Ragan, Blair and Jeanne (Mrs. Harley) Shepherd, Rockford; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five nieces and nephews and one cousin.

Memorials may be directed to Lutheran Social Services of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fred. C. Olson Funeral Chapels, East Chapel in Rockford.
