Jens Nielsen Former Merchant Died in Omaha

Jens Nielsen, former business man in Blair, died in an Omaha Hospital last Saturday evening. Funeral rites will be held at the Bendorf Funeral Home, on Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock, September 17, with Rev. H.C. Jorgensen officiating and interment will be made in the Blair cemetery.

Deceased was born in Denmark and when young, came to America where for some time he worked as a farm hand. Later he went into business and for a long term of years was in the mercantile business in Washington, this county.

Selling his business in Washington, he came to Blair where he conducted a grocery business for several years.

He was married four times, the first three wives having died, and the fourth still surviving him. Besides the wife he has two children, Mrs. R. Stewart Fleming, of Pomona, California, and Gwyer, who is in the Navy, and is stationed at Point Montara, in California.

Both are expected here for the funeral rites.

He was a member of the First Lutheran Church and until he moved to Omaha about three years ago, was a regular attendant. He has a wide acquaintance in this county and many friends who will be sorry to hear of this death.
