OBITUARY

Jens Peter Nielsen

Funeral services were held yesterday for Jens Peter Nielsen of 607 W. Park street, who died Friday, June 8, at his home, of heart trouble.

Rev. Nielsen of the Danish Lutheran church officiated, the services being held at the church.

The deceased was born Sept. 23, 1844 at Judland, Denmark and was therefore past 78 years of age. He has been in Blair fourteen years. Besides his wife, he leaves three sons and two daughters. The sons are Harold and Andrew of Sterling, Colo., Frank of Ashland, the daughters, Mrs. R. Nelson of Ord and Mrs. P. Schmidt of California.

JENS P. NIELSEN PASSES AWAY IN DEXTERVILLE

The death of Jens P. Nielsen occurred June 8, 1923, at his home in Dexterville, after an extended illness which resulted in an affection of the heart.

Jens Peter Nielsen was born in Jutland, Denmark, September 23, 1844, and was in his 79th year. He had been a resident of Blair for fourteen years and was a carpenter by trade, retiring when ill health made it necessary for him to do so. He is survived by his wife, three sons and two daughters.

The funeral services were held at the Danish Lutheran church in Blair on Wednesday, at 2 p.m., and burial was made in the Blair cemetery.

Jens Peter Nelsen died at his home in Dexterville last Friday of heart trouble, but the funeral was not held until today awaiting the arrival of his two sons, Harold and Andrew, of Sterling, Colo., Frank of Ashland, and Mrs. Dick Nelsen of Ord were also here for the funeral service, which was conducted by Rev. H. Nelson at the Danish Lutheran church at 1:30. Another daughter, Mrs. Peter Schmidt, lives in Fresno, Calif. Mr. Nelsen was born in Denmark in 1844, so was 77 years of age. He came to this country in 1868 and settled on a farm near Schuyler, Colfax county, coming to Blair some twelve years ago.
