Lloyd James Nielsen, 78

Lloyd James Nielsen, 78, of Blair, died Wednesday, May 20, 1999, at Blair Memorial Community Hospital.

Services were Saturday, May 22 at First Lutheran Church in Blair.

Lloyd James Nielsen was born July 19, 1920 to Agnes (Andersen) and J.W. Nielsen on a farm southwest of Blair.

He attended Brewster School for eight years and graduated from Blair High School in May of 1937.

In 1942, he entered the Army and was honorably discharged in 1945, after serving in Alaska.

When he returned to Blair, he married Elsie Katherine Kastrup on May 19, 1948 in Laurel.

He continued farming on the family farm until 1984, when he and his wife moved to Blair.

He is survived by his wife, Elsie; three sons and daughter-in-law, Ron and Karen Nielsen of Norfolk, Don and Deb Nielsen of Rosemount, Minn., and David and Nancy Nielsen of Blair; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Bruce Camenzind of Blair; nine grandchildren, Anna and her husband, Dan Janke, Marc, Jason, Emily, Christy, Gretchen, Jim, Carly and Cody; a sister, Roma Randall of Omaha; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Darlene Gleeson and Erma Taylor.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair was in charge of arrangements.
