Former Blair resident, Lois Ann Nielsen, 70, of Livermore, Calif., died Aug 9, 2000, in Byron, Calif.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Aug. 14, at the Brentwood Funeral Home. Interment was at the Union Cemetery in Brentwood, Calif.

Lois Ann Nielsen was born Nov. 12, 1929, in Blair to Helena and Soren McDonald of Kennard.

She worked as an accountant with Trecor MBA, a company that does contract work for the U.S. government, for 20 years. She enjoyed crafts, listening to music, attending live theater, and supporting children’s organizations.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Philip Nielsen of Byron; daughter, Jana Sturgeon of Sparks, Nev.; sons Jeffry and Joel Nielsen of Byron, sisters, Darlene Roumph of Cedar Bluffs and Judy Goodman of Tracy, Calif.; brothers, Bill McDonald of Fremont and Gordon McDonald of Omaha; four grandchildren, two great-grandsons, and nieces and nephews.
