Funeral services for Bert Hansen, age 88, who died November 17, 1989, were held Monday, November 20, 1989, at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Kennard, Nebraska. Burial was in the Kennard Cemetery with Dr. Clifford Hansen officiating.
Bert Hansen was born on February 22, 1901, in Kennard to Chris B. and Anna Jensen Hansen. He was baptized and confirmed in 1915 at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Kennard. He attended March School graduating in 1916. He married Frieda Nelsen on June 3, 1925 in Omaha, Nebraska, and farmed on his father's home place until retiring in 1966 at which time they moved to Blair.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Frieda; daughter, Donna Lee Templeton; son, Duane Bert Hansen; five sisters and one brother.
He is survived by two sons, Carroll of Lake Preston, South Dakota and Trumbull, Connecticut; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
