Marie Nielsen Is Buried In Blair Cemetery

Funeral services for Mrs. Gifford (Marie) Nielsen, 68, 2114 N. D. St., Fremont, were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 3, 1979, at the Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont with the Rev. Dan Hansen of First Lutheran Church officiating.

Mrs. Nielsen died Sunday morning at Memorial Hospital of Dodge County. She was born April 21, 1911, in Fort Calhoun. She had lived in Fremont since 1966, and had previously resided in Fort Calhoun and Blair.

She was a 1928 graduate of Fort Calhoun High School and attended Dana College in Blair. She taught in the Long Creek and Brewster school districts.

Mrs. Nielsen married Gifford T. Nielsen on April 14, 1937, at Blair. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and Naomi Chapter 121 of the order of the Eastern Star in Fort Calhoun and would have received her 50-year membership pin this month.

Survivors include her husband Gifford, three sons; James and Duane, Blair, and Roger, Bennington; two daughters: Mrs. Richard (Marlene) Hansen, Imperial; and Mrs. Ronald (Betty) Mlejnek, Hastings, four sisters: Mrs. Julia Melotz, Blair, Mrs. Helen Kruse, Omaha, Mrs. Alma Larsen, Omaha, and Mrs. Fred (Gertrude) Heise, Blair; and 13 grandchildren.

Furthur services for Mrs. Nielsen were at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church in Blair with the Rev. John Petersen and the Rev. Dan Hansen officiating.

Mrs. Ronald Lau was organist at the services in Blair. Soloist was Mrs. Lawrence Lindgren.

Pallbearers were John Melotz, Kenneth Larsen, Marvin Heise, Eugene Kruse, Warren Nielsen and Donald Nielsen.

Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.
