Mrs. Wm. Bryant Dies Wednesday

Services to be Held Sunday from Methodist Church

Mrs. William Bryant passed away at her home on east Colfax street at 2:45 o’clock yesterday morning following an illness of lengthy duration. She suffered a severe attack of pneumonia last Sunday evening and had been seriously ill the fore part of this week. About sixteen months ago, Mrs. Bryant suffered a broken leg and a fractured wrist when she fell at her home and she was confined to her bed up until a few weeks ago when her health had improved sufficiently to allow her to go about her work as usual. About a month ago she visited with relatives t Tecumseh and Syracuse and had returned home but a few days before she was taken ill with pneumonia.

As Catherine Pauline Lane, she was born March 15, 1852, at Kenosha, Wisconsin. When she was about ten years of age, she came with her parents to Brownville, Nebraska, and a few years later the family removed to Tecumseh where the deceased attended the schools. In 1893 she was united in marriage to William Bryant at Ida Grove, Iowa, and since that time the family had resided in Blair. Three sons were born to this union. A son, Burdette, died at the age of twenty-one. Mrs. Bryant held a very wide acquaintance in this community and was loved and respected by her many friends. Although she had been bedfast the greater part of the past year, she was always cheerful and greatly enjoyed a visit with her friends.

She is survived by her bereaved husband; two sons, S. S. Bryant of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and N.W. Bryant of Grand Junction, Colorado; an adopted son, Lane Bryant of Frederickston, New Brunswick, Canada. Two nephews and a niece, besides a brother, Timothy Lane of Tecumseh, also survive her.

Funeral services will be held from the Methodist church on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock with the Rev. A. F. Newell, officiating. Burial will be in Blair cemetery.
