Chris Siert Died Today

Lifetime County Farmer, 62, Dies in Omaha After Operation

Chris Siert, 62, lifetime resident of Washington County and a farmer in the Fort Calhoun and Blair vicinities many years, died at 7 a.m. today in Immanuel Hospital, Omaha, following an operation.

The body is at the Campbell Mortuary, with services yet to be announced.

Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Siert, he was born here. For many years he farmed near Fort Calhoun, and last year moved to the old Siert farm west of Blair.

He is survived by a son, Harold, Omaha; three brothers, Frank and Paul of Blair, and Fred Siert, now in California on a visit; two sisters, Misses Margaret and Kate Siert of Blair, and an aunt, Mrs. Catherine Siert, Blair.

Chris Siert died this Thursday morning at the Immanuel Hospital in Omaha following an operation for acute obstruction of the bowels. He was taken ill Tuesday.

Chris is a member of one of the earliest families in Blair, his oldest brother being the first child born in Blair.

At his death he was 62 years of age. He leaves a son; two sisters, Margaret and Kate Siert, and three brothers, Frank, Fred and Paul, all well known in Blair.

As yet no arrangements have been made for the funeral.
