Dorothy Jean "Toots" Albus, 74, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at home in Blair after a courageous battle with cancer.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Blair. Interment will be at the Blair Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair with prayer at 7 p.m.

Dorothy Jean Blatter was born Jan. 25, 1936, in Blair to J.W. "Bill" and Anna Mae (Monke) Blatter. She was baptized at Salem Lutheran Church in Fontanelle, and graduated from Blair High School in 1953.

She married Dale "Asa" Albus on Dec. 30, 1956.

She worked in Blair at Kelly Ryan and retired from Jebco after 40 years in 1996. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary and attended the Episcopal Church.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, walking, playing cards and going to the casino. She was truly one of a kind and loved for her wonderful sense of humor.

She is survived by her husband, Dale; children, Bill Albus of Long Beach, Calif., and Lisa Sonderup of Blair; grandchildren, Jessica and Jason Sonderup of Blair; sisters and brother-in-law Anne and Byron Bruner of Long Beach, Calif., Alice Dick of Fremont; sisters-in-law, Billie Blatter of Las Vegas, Nev., Jeannette Blatter of Wheat Ridge, Colo. and Marlys Letts of La Porte, Ind.; many nieces, nephews and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Pauline Lallman and Helen "Pat" Barta; brothers, Ted, Bill and John Blatter; sisters-in-law, Audrey and Jean Blatter; and brothers-in-law, Curtis Lallman, Roy Barta and John Dick.
