Funeral services for Mary Nielsen, age 81 of Blair, who died at Good Shepherd Home August 8, 1990 will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 11, at the Grace United Methodist Church in Kennard, with Rev. Russell Terman officiating. Burial will be in the Kennard Cemetery.

Mary V. Andersen was born February 14, 1909 at Kennard, Nebraska to Andrew and Rose McBride Andersen. She graduated from Blair High School, and attended Dana College. After receiving her teaching certificate, she taught in local rural schools.

She married Alfred Nielsen on February 24, 1933.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Alfred in 1986; two sons, Richard and Alfred Jr., and by three sisters.

She is survived by one daughter, Marian Gilbert, Blair; one son and daughter-in-law, Warren and Phyllis Nielsen, Kennard; nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
