Services for Melitta A. Elfeldt Nielsen, 83 of Hastings, who died April 11, 1993 at Villa Grace at Good Samaritan Village in Hastings will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 17 at Fredericksburg Lutheran Church near Minden. Rev. Norman Nelson and Rev. Terry Nielsen will officiate. Burial will be in Fredericksburg Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Melitta A. Elfeldt Nielsen was born July 4, 1909 on a farm near Lincoln, Nebraska to Otto and Anna Schodt Elfeldt.

She attended Nebraska Wesleyan University and Dana College, graduating from Dana in 1964. She was a elementary teacher with the Blair Public Schools from 1961-71. She moved to Hastings in 1986.

She married Arnold Martin Nielsen August 11, 1935. He preceded her in death March 27, 1986.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Milda Weilage and Martha Worley.

She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Janet and John Cameron of Marshall, Minnesota and Mary Jo and Gary Kubik of Omaha; a grandson and his wife, Greg and Jacy Kubik of Omaha and a granddaughter and her husband, Jill and Darrell Kessler of Denver, Colorado and a twin sister, Taleta E. Elfedt of Hastings.

Memorials may go to Dana College in Blair or Villa Grace in Hastings.

Brand-Wilson Mortuary in Hastings is in charge of arrangements.
