Michael E. Nielsen, 48

Michael E. Nielsen, 48, of West Point, died Monday, Aug. 1, 2005, at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point.

Funeral services were Thursday, Aug. 4, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Point. Interment was in the Blair Cemetery.

Michael Edward Nielsen was born May 22, 1957, at West Point to Don and Barbara Allen Nielsen. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church. He attended West Point Public Schools, graduating in 1975.

On Nov. 22, 1980, he married Pamela Thompson in Blair. The couple later divorced.

Mr. Nielsen worked as a truck driver for his father at Nielsen Oil and Propane and then Sapp Brothers.

He is survived by his sons, Michael of Omaha and Matthew of La Vista; father, Don Nielsen of West Point; brothers and sisters-in-law, Steven and Mary Nielsen of Snyder and Duane and Kari Nielsen of Rapid City, S.D.; special friend, Donna Kreikemeier; and four nieces.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Memorial Hospital.
