Robert D. Nielsen, 71

Blair native Robert D. Nielsen, 71, of West Point, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2007, at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha.

Memorial visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, at Kuzelka-Minnick Funeral Home in West Point. Interment will be at a later date.

Robert D. Nielsen was born June 2, 1935, in Blair, to Axel E. and Martha (Nelson) Nielsen. He was baptized and confirmed at the First Lutheran Church in Blair. He attended Blair Public Schools.

Mr. Nielsen worked for Continental Bakery in Omaha until his retirement. He then moved to West Point and worked for his brother, Don, at Nielsen Oil.

He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Don and Sarah Nielsen of West Point and a sister, Elaine Kinnett of Eugene, Ore., as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter and one sister.
